On May 8, 2025, the "Foreign Trade Export Empowerment Matchmaking Conference for Private Enterprises," hosted by the National Federation of Industry and Commerce (NFIC), took place in Beijing. The conference was guided throughout by Shouwen Wang, Minister and member of the NFIC Party Leadership Group (ministerial level), and Ying Shen, Party Secretary of NFIC. Key officials from the Ministry of Commerce, the State Administration for Market Regulation, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, and business leaders from JD, Douyin, Alibaba, Wumart Group, and others gathered. Wuhan participated as a sub-venue through a live video link with the main Beijing venue for learning and discussion. Reed Biotech LTD, as a representative of the biotechnology industry, was invited to attend the event. This conference, through collaboration between the government, enterprises, banks, and businesses, explored and decoded policy dividends to help private enterprises open new paths for high-quality development.

I. Policy Briefing and Precision Efforts
The Ministry of Commerce provided a detailed interpretation of President Jinping Xi's important instructions on deepening the integration of internal and external trade reforms. The People's Bank of China discussed policies on facilitating cross-border RMB settlement and financing support for foreign trade enterprises.

II. Key Agenda Highlights

  • Policy Support: Mu Yang, Director of the Market Construction Department of the Ministry of Commerce, explained the facilitation policies for export qualification of private enterprises, emphasizing measures such as simplifying related export registration processes to support private enterprises' exports.
  • New Financial Momentum: Xiaodong Zhang, a member of the Party Committee and Vice President of Bank of China; Shouchuan Zhang, a member of the Party Committee and Vice President of Industrial and Commercial Bank of China; and Jian Yu, Deputy Director of the Credit Market Department at the People's Bank of China, addressed the challenges in cross-border trade, offering targeted solutions for small and medium-sized enterprises related to foreign exchange settlement and overseas financing, providing necessary support for enterprises to go global.
  • Platform Empowerment for Domestic Sales: Platforms like JD, Alibaba, and Douyin, along with supermarket companies, introduced measures supporting the transformation of exports to domestic sales and shared their successful experiences in this regard.

III. Work Deployment and Direction Guidance
The conference emphasized that, in the face of a complex and severe international situation, the domestic market serves as a strong backbone for foreign trade enterprises. It is crucial to strengthen confidence, better leverage the advantages of the large-scale market, and promote the integration of stabilizing foreign trade and expanding consumption. By stabilizing the domestic circulation, enterprises can better cope with external shocks.

Conclusion
Despite the ongoing China-US trade war, the government has provided private enterprises with a way out through a combination of "policy countermeasures, market substitution, technological breakthroughs, and financial support." Reed Biotech will continue to leverage favorable policies, using innovative technology as a springboard to bridge the entire "research-production-sales" chain, contributing to China's biotechnology manufacturing strength in the life sciences industry!
